Documents required to obtain a Construction License in Nepal

Registration Process
    • Step 1: Register your facility with the Office of the Company Registrar as a company. (Link: full process of company registration)
    • Step 2: Get VAT Certificate from Inland Revenue Department (IRD) same as your company address. (Link: full process of VAT Registration)
    • Step 3: Registered in Gharelu Udyog. 
    • Step 4: Registered in your ward office (woda karyalaya). After registering in OCR and IRD, you need to register in your ward office (same as your office address) 
    • Step 5: Request a license (D class) in Municipality as per company address. The license may be obtained in 30 working days on average.

Required Documents
    • Company Registration documents (AOA, MOA, Certificate)
    • Gharelu Certificate
    • VAT Registration Certificate
    • Woda Registration Certificate
    • Tax Clearance certificate
    • VAT bills of these equipment/machines (this is different for different local level. Some local bodies will require you to own/lease tractor/tripper as well
    • Insurance papers of the machines
    • Photographs of machines with your company name written clearly.
    • Verification of machines by registered Mechanical engineer
    • Academic certificate of one of the shareholders/ proprietors
    • Recently snapped PP sized photographs
    • Citizenship certificates of the shareholders/proprietors
    • Minutes of the company on a decision to obtain a license
    • Application to obtain the license.

Notes: 
    1. Registration for VAT is compulsory for construction companies. 
    2. Ward registration fee may differ as per ward office.
    3. Machine and HR required may be different for different local level and class.
